Gift-giving Gems and Inspirations
Love comes in many forms. Sometimes love looks like celebrating holidays, birthdays or meaningful occasions. So, just in case you are feeling the gift-giving spirit in the coming months, we wanted to share with you a specially curated collection of cute and caring household gems and fun decor inspirations.
The best place to begin our list: self care. This fall, we are loving the Apothecary Rose Body Box because…cleansing? moisturizing? and mood boosting?! This might be the perfect gift for yourself, or someone you know who needs some extra appreciation. Imbued with the ancient plant medicine of rose, a body bar, body milk and natural sea sponge together make up this dreamy gift set. Everything is high quality, all natural, as organic as possible – and local for New York folks! The ultimate gift of gentleness and softness.
Continuing with this theme of indulging the senses, our next gift idea is a distinctive cooking spoon. First of all, we will always cherish the gorgeous grain patterns of beloved Black Walnut wood (whose trees grow abundantly near us at GTH). Second, this spoon is a perfect gift for absolutely anyone – whether they enjoy eating, cooking, or both! Order one and see for yourself how one element of beauty can bring a burst of joy to someone's day.
While we are in the kitchen, we may need to restock a kitchen essential: the tea towel. Honestly, we adore all the patterns (leaves, tomatoes, LOVE!) featured in this fall collection, however with the harvest season recently wrapping up here in the Catskills, we are most drawn to this vibrant veggie print. Nothing like an alluring array of fruits and vegetables to get the cooking juices going! From this veggie tea towel's 100% cotton fabric to its soothing green hues, you really can't go wrong.
Before we move onto our candle-related gifts, we want to pause and highlight a fellow creative and small business owner in our local community. Also, who doesn't love a good book? Plus, Greentree candles are peppered throughout the book. Sean Scherer's charming Vignettes was published earlier this year. Texture, color, shape and size are all important when choosing the trinkets and wares that will set the mood for a space – this is the art of arranging vignettes. From flora and fauna to asymmetry, Sean shares his delight in design through the book's spread of memorable photographs.
Candle accessories (of course) offer endless inspiration for vignettes. Right now, we are googly-eyed for Beehive Handmade's majestic candlesnuffer (choose between a sleek brass or textured copper handle) and immensely infatuated with SIN's strangely cool candlestick.
Architecturally innovative and a little wild, the Wei candle holder is at the same time very practical. We can see both the candlesnuffer and candlestick adding that magical touch that transforms a space. Give these goodies a try and let us know what you think!
Oh, and we haven't forgotten that you will probably need some candles…
Beeswax is fun to play with, and we are constantly trying out new styles and shapes here at GTH. Through this process of experimentation, we created our Fluted Church Tapers. If you haven't yet, please order a pair or two (plus some for friends and loved ones)! Stunning in every color, their fluted design adds multi-dimensional flair to one of our classic taper forms. We say this about our Church Tapers too: no matter what church means for you, these candles will take you there. They will hold you down and lift you up in moments of need.
